On some plansIs Grammarly HIPAA compliant?
Checked 6 Nov 2026 from 2 vendor sources
Grammarly says it can enter into a BAA only for Business Enterprise plans, and its Superhuman Go article limits HIPAA to Go’s Enterprise plan. So the answer depends on your plan. Check yours below before any patient data goes in.
| Plan or product | BAA |
|---|---|
| Plans other than Enterprise (vendor says BAAs are only for Enterprise) | Not covered |
| Enterprise plan for Grammarly, as named on the Superhuman plans page | Covered |
| Superhuman Go Enterprise | Covered |
What the BAA leaves out
- Superhuman Go Mail agent
- Third-party agents and third-party services under Go
- Customer-built agents fall under the Superhuman Developer Terms
- PHI in support requests
- Superhuman Mail: the plans page limits Enterprise HIPAA to Grammarly, Docs and Go
How to get the BAA
Contact the Grammarly or Superhuman sales team through the contact page.
What the vendor says to do
- Go: enable SAML SSO with your identity provider
- Go: limit agents to those admins approve
- Go: do not use it as a system of record for health data
- Keep PHI out of support requests
Proof from the vendor
- Is Grammarly HIPAA compliant?BAAs only on Business Enterprise, contact sales, no PHI without a current BAA
- Superhuman Go HIPAA Compliance InformationEnterprise only, Mail agent and third-party agents outside the BAA, setup items
This isn’t legal advice. A BAA is one requirement. Your clinic still has to set the tool up correctly and control who has access. Vendors change their terms, so confirm with the vendor before you sign. PHI means protected health information, which includes patient data.
