Is Dialpad HIPAA compliant?
Checked 6 Nov 2026 from 5 vendor sources
Company admins on paid Dialpad accounts can sign a BAA online, after which Dialpad says all its products can be used by healthcare customers. So the answer depends on your plan. Check yours below before any patient data goes in.
| Plan or product | BAA |
|---|---|
| Unpaid accounts | Not covered |
| All paid Dialpad accounts | Covered |
What the BAA leaves out
- BAA reaches only Dialpad’s environment, not the patient’s end of an SMS
How to get the BAA
A Company Admin on a paid account signs it in the Dialpad Admin Portal under Privacy and Legal.
What the vendor says to do
- Sign in to the Dialpad Admin Portal as a Company Admin
- Select the office, open Privacy and Legal, click Sign and Review next to the HIPAA BAA, then Accept
- For Dialpad Meetings, open Menu, then Privacy, then Review, then Accept
- Set retention to match your own requirements
- Add an SMS opt-in to your HIPAA notice or keep ePHI out of texts
What we couldn’t confirm
Dialpad’s help pages describe a separate BAA flow for Dialpad Meetings Business, but its pricing page doesn’t list that plan. Confirm with Dialpad.

This isn’t legal advice. A BAA is one requirement. Your clinic still has to set the tool up correctly and control who has access. Vendors change their terms, so confirm with the vendor before you sign. PHI means protected health information, which includes patient data.
