The big cloud providers offer BAAs, but they usually cover listed services only. Your developer still has to stay inside that list.
Where to start
All three offer a BAA, so choose the one your developer already knows. What matters more is staying inside the vendor’s list of eligible services.
| Tool | Result | Where the BAA applies |
|---|---|---|
| AAWS | BAA available | Accept in AWS Artifact; eligible services |
| GGoogle Cloud | BAA available | Accept the BAA; listed services |
| MMicrosoft Azure | BAA available | Included by default for covered entities |

- Confirm the BAA covers your exact plan and every feature you’ll use.
- Get the BAA signed before any patient data goes in.
- Turn on the settings the vendor requires, and train your staff on them.
This isn’t legal advice. A BAA is one requirement. Your clinic still has to set the tool up correctly and control who has access. Vendors change their terms, so confirm before you sign. PHI means protected health information, which includes patient data.
